How to use PDF to Excel

    1. Select your PDF with the button above, or drag and drop it onto the page.
    2. Check the options if the tool has any. The default settings work for most documents.
    3. Click "Convert" and wait a few seconds while the PDF is converted to Excel.
    4. Download your Excel file. Several files are delivered in a ZIP archive.

The converter looks for tables on every page of your PDF and rebuilds them cell by cell. Numbers are stored as numbers, so SUM, AVERAGE and pivot tables work immediately. Pages without ruled tables are exported line by line, with columns split where the text has wide gaps.

Each PDF page becomes its own worksheet, which makes it easy to find your data again.

    About the file formats

    PDF (Portable Document Format)

Created by Adobe in 1993, PDF is the standard for sharing documents that must look identical on every screen and printer. It embeds fonts, images and layout in one file and supports passwords, forms and digital signatures.

    XLSX (Microsoft Excel)

XLSX is the spreadsheet format of Microsoft Excel since 2007. It stores worksheets, formulas, charts and formatting, and opens in Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc and Numbers.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are numbers converted as numbers?

Yes. Values such as 1,250.50 are stored as numeric cells, so you can use them in formulas right away.

What happens to pages without tables?

Their text is exported row by row, split into columns where the layout has clear gaps.

Does it work with scanned PDF files?

Scanned pages are images, so their text cannot be edited directly. Run the file through our OCR PDF tool first to make the text recognizable, then convert it.

    Is MajorPDF free to use?

Yes, completely free. There is no registration and no watermark is added to your files.

    Are my files safe?

Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection and deleted automatically after 1 hour(s). After downloading you can also delete them immediately with one click.

What is the maximum file size?

Each file can be up to 50 MB.
